1. Any age can be the “right age” to begin studying music as long as the music lessons are fun and the student can be successful. We provide instruction in music beginning in first grade because this is a good age for a child to begin learning music concepts in levels. Older children will quickly pick up these concepts and will also learn music concepts for their grade levels.

2. The first class day is extremely important. The Elementary class will be given a sample lesson. We will sing songs, do some movements, play on instruments, and have fun. At the same time the children will be learning music fundamentals such as rhythm and solfege.
3. Beginning band students will be given an opportunity to try the instruments to see what they like and what they would have success playing. IMPORTANT: Be sure to see the band information page. A quality instrument is of utmost importance. The music stores listed on the links page can help you. If your child already has an instrument, he or she should bring it.
4. Any student that has any experience playing a band instrument may be eligible to be in the intermediate or advanced band. This will be determined by audition. Again, see the band information page.
5. All Choir members should report to the 10:40am time on the first class day. Each student will be auditioned for a voice part. It is not necessary to bring any materials on the first day. I will have all the music and materials for that day. There will be a sample lesson using the text book and afterwards, you may order the text from me.
Note: There is no charge for the first day of class, which is an orientation for all students and their parents.
